A professional securities investor is an individual who meets one of the following conditions:
1. Holding a securities practice certificate;
2. Possessing a list of listed securities registered for trading with a value of at least VND 2 billion, certified by a securities company at the time of identification as a Professional Securities Investor;
3. Having a taxable income of at least VND 1 billion in the latest year, as evidenced by tax declaration dossiers submitted to tax authorities or withholding tax vouchers from paying organizations and individuals.
You can become a Professional Securities Investor in either of the following cases:
– Case 1: Automatic upgrade to a foreign investor by TCBS if holding a list of listed securities registered for trading with a minimum value of VND 2 billion at TCBS or having a total value of securities selling transactions of the year amounting to 01 billion VND or more at TCBS.
– Case 2: Provide TCBS with notarized copies of the following documents:
+ Identity card/Citizen ID/Passport valid
+ One of the following three types of documents:
- Type 1: Securities practice certificate.
- Type 2: Confirmation of the list of listed securities registered for trading with a minimum value of VND 2 billion from the securities companies where you open a trading account.

Type 3: Documents proving the taxable income of the latest year is from 1 billion VND or more, using either of the following two types of documents:a. Tax returns submitted to the tax authorityb. Tax deduction vouchers of organizations or individuals paying income of the latest year.
